Aristotle’s Lantern – The history behind this painting….I took this photo on the beach in Bay Roberts while on a photography course with Dennis Minty Photography. I have a Master of Biology and have always been fascinated by details in nature. So the broken shell of the Green Sea Urchin, displaying the 5 calcareous feeding apparatus known as Aristotle’s Lantern, next to the seaweed on the rocky beach, was right up my alley!
